Holiday Parties

There is nothing better than coming up with a theme that is detailed, purposeful and something no one has ever seen before. I love being able to surprise and delight guests at any event, but holiday parties are particularly fun!

Purpose: Celebrate the year's successes and make lasting memories with fellow teammates.

70's/80's Mash Up

Follow the call of the Disco Ball! Decked out in classy 70's & 80's attire, there were plenty of opportunities for guests to boogie on the dance floor, jump in an airstream to sing karaoke or play pac man until their fingers went numb.

Mystic Masquerade

Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death," 600 Atlassians embarked on a colorful journey where The Driskill Hotel set the perfect backdrop for an evening of curious live entertainment, dancing, and surprises around every corner.

1920's Murder Mystery

Guests were invited by darlings of the Jazz age, Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald to their southern mansion, The Driskill, to celebrate the unveiling of a new painting by Picasso himself dedicated to wall-street tycoon Marcus Rockefeller, famed patron of the arts. It was absolutely killer.

Friends & Family Days

Purpose: Provide an experience for staff and their families to create memories with other friends and family, share culture and thank families for being supportive  through-out the year.

2019 - Food for Thought - Olympic Games meets Feeding the Hungry

Canva Create Days

Purpose: Typically with synonymous with a new product feature launch, a reveal of the final product that is launching to market along with a party to celebrate everyone's hard work for the previous quarter. Formerly known as "Season Openers" which transitioned to "Canva Create" and held once per quarter.

Virtual Examples

2020 remote work life forced our team to get creative and pivot to foster connections virtually. Through engaging speakers, live music, happy hours, long form classes, personal development and charitable opportunities, Atlassians have stayed connected, and maybe even more so now globally.

Live Music Sessions supporting artists all over the globe!

Long form Classes - Spanish, Drawing,  Art Animation, Dutch, Photography, Creativity and more!

Happy Hours featuring mixology lessons, dueling pianos, trivia, bingo, escape rooms, etc.

Give Back Auction created at the beginning of the COVID pandemic to give back to small businesses and allow staff to contribute as well.

Our team has experimented so much between March 2020 and now that I think it's important to share so that other teams can be inspired and see that there are still opportunities even in a mostly virtual setting.

Wellness

Having the opportunity to re-create an entire wellness program has been so rewarding. Flash forward to 2020, getting the chance to do it all again. On-site and virtual fitness classes, mindfulness and meditation workshops, massage days, juice days and external speakers are just some of the ways I've been able to promote wellness in the workplace.

Think. Live. Give.

In my role at Whim Hospitality, I wore many hats. One of my favorite parts of the job was helping open, operationally set up and plan thoughtful marketing events to showcase the space. This series of events gave our event partners to see the space and products, interact with our team and also had a give-back component!
